Finger Lakes Wood Turners - Monthly Meetings
The FLWT meets 6:30-8:45 PM on the third Thursday of the month (September
through May) at 3399 Winton Road South, Rochester 14623 - at the corner of
Winton and Castle Rd (near the Jefferson Rd intersection).
Workshops and meetings will be conducted in the gymnasium, accessible from the
South entrance (Castle Rd.).
The meeting starts promptly at 6:30 PM.
Genesee Valley Handspinners Guild - Monthly Meetings
All meetings of the GVHG are held on the third Saturday of each month at the
First Presbyterian Church, located at 70 East Main Street in Victor, NY. Doors
are open from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm.
Finger Lakes Fiber Festival - September 20 & 21, 2008

Saturday 10am - 5pm
Sunday 10am - 4pm
At the Hemlock Fairgrounds in Hemlock, NY
General Admission:$4, Two-day pass:$5, Ages 12 and under: free
Introduction to Woodturning - October 4, 2008
Four-hour demonstration (class size limited to 40 participants)
This four-hour workshop will provide an introduction to woodturning with
demonstrations and lots of useful information. Jim will discuss lathes, he will
overview the tools, chucking methods, and demonstrate several projects.
Jim has a lot of useful experiences and stories that they will use to help new turners
get started rotating in the right direction. If there is sufficient demand, this turning
series may be repeated later in the year.

Registration: RWS members = $25; non-members = $45
